Transport Capital is pleased to announce that Meeyoung Choi (“MY”) has joined Transport Capital as Head of North America & Korea, based in New York City.

MY has over 26 years of experience in the global Shipping, Aviation and Infrastructure industries serving multiple corporations in Europe, North & South America and Asia. Over the course of her career, she has completed over USD7 billion of debt and equity transactions. She is an expert in varied financial products and structures including capital raising, loan underwriting, private equity, securitization, corporate & financial restructuring and mergers & acquisitions.

Prior to joining Transport Capital, MY has spent the last 12 years as CEO of Meriel Partners Co. Ltd. in Korea, an investment banking boutique firm specialised in the transportation and infrastructure sectors. Before Meriel Partners, she also worked for Jefferies & Co and AMA Capital Partners in New York as Head of Asia.

MY graduated from Ewha Womans University in 1993 majoring in Business Management.

With MY joining the team, Transport Capital has also now added North America to its role as exclusive lending agent for shipping for Deka Bank, in addition to Asia Pacific and Greece. MY will lead the effort to source ship finance transactions for Deka with North America’s leading ship owners.
